Build Your First AI Agent

The future isn't only a private chat with your own digital EA. It gets a lot more interesting once you're comfortable letting your colleagues talk to it too: an ops bot your whole team uses, a shared accountant for your ice cream pop-up, a chief of staff people can check in with while you're on a plane or buried in meetings.

Since I started running these workshops, even more agents have become available to start with, so we'll experiment with a few of them as a group.

In our primary track, we'll build an open-source Hermes agent and start working with it, so you can see the building blocks:

1. What an agent actually is, and when a plain workflow is enough (the basics).

2. How one's put together. We'll look at a working agent and the pieces that make it one: it remembers, it picks up skills, and it gets better when you correct it. You'll understand how it works before you build your own.

3. Build yours. Everyone builds a starter agent.

4. Intro to multiplayer. A short break to talk through what changes when an agent moves into a shared space: how it should communicate, who it talks to, and how to keep your private data safe.

In parallel, depending on interest, we'll also try out Muse, Grokbot and Dots to compare and contrast.
