AI, Risk and Responsibility: a Christian Response

AI has changed more in the last six months than in the previous several years. It no longer just chats; it acts, carrying out long tasks with little human oversight. Even the labs building it are surprised by what it does, and recent incidents have shown they can’t fully control it.

This interactive morning will help you make sense of what’s going on, understand the main risks, and think through what a Christian response could look like. We’ll be joined by Chris Goswami, Founder of the AI Christian Partnership, and Nathan Mladin, Senior Researcher at Theos Think Tank, who will help us put these developments in the context of our faith.

Broadly, the morning will cover:

• The world AI is making: how AI is changing our world, the opportunities it brings, what should worry us, and the big questions it raises

• Your experience: where AI is already helping you, and what concerns you about it

• A Christian response: what our faith says about AI, what makes us human and why that matters, and how we can help shape a better future
