Legal Engineers NYC

Law firms are writing AI policies in plain English: what tools lawyers can use, what client data can go where, when a human has to review the output. But AI agents can only follow rules that are precise enough to check. Translating a policy into logic is where meaning gets lost.

Bring a law firm AI policy, rule, or control. Take one sentence, for example "No client data goes into a public AI tool without client consent," and ask any LLM you already use (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to turn it into if-then logic. Then try to break it with edge cases: What counts as client data? What if consent was verbal? What if two rules conflict, or one can never be satisfied?

We will compare the group's translations live, including against PreFlight, ICME Labs' policy compiler, run on screen so no account or setup is needed. Laptops open; no coding required; demos encouraged.

Our first session brought 47 legal engineers to Falcon Rappaport & Berkman to test which AI tools invent case law. This one moves from checking what AI writes to checking whether the rules themselves translate.
