BuildFest: Challenges & Workshops

BuildFest is a hands-on event for builders, developers, designers, and curious minds to explore new technologies, solve problems, and build something from scratch.

Instead of sitting through a series of talks, you’ll get to meet the teams, try their products, join interactive workshops, and take on challenges throughout the event.

Come with an idea—or start with a blank page. There’s no single way to participate.

How BuildFest Works

BuildFest is built around two things: interactive workshops and hands-on challenges.

Participating companies will have dedicated tables where their teams will showcase their products through live demos. During their scheduled slots, they’ll also run workshops where you can learn how their technology works and use it yourself.

Alongside the workshops, you’ll have a series of challenges that you can tackle individually or combine into a larger project.

Start With a Problem

We’ll start by giving you a simple challenge:

Find a problem worth solving.

You’ll have access to sample datasets and a set of personas to choose from. You can also bring your own dataset, choose your own persona, and define a problem yourself.

Your goal is to:

• Explore the data

• Choose or define a persona

• Identify a real or interesting problem

• Come up with a solution

• Build a prototype or experiment

From there, you can take your idea further by using the technologies and challenges available throughout BuildFest.

Take on the Challenges

Once you have a problem and an idea, choose your own path.

You can complete a single challenge or combine multiple challenges and technologies to build something more ambitious.

🤖 Kylon — Multi-Agent Challenge

Build a team of AI agents that work together to solve your problem.

Give agents different roles, responsibilities, and instructions, then orchestrate them into a system that can tackle a larger task.

🧪 Tenki — Code Review Challenge

Build it. Test it. Break it. Improve it.

Use Tenki to review and test your code, find bugs and edge cases, and see how well your solution holds up.

🎨 Design Challenge

Turn your idea into a product experience.

Design the interface, user journey, or interaction model for your solution and show how a real user would experience it.

⚡ More Challenges

More technologies and challenges will be available throughout the event.

You don't have to do everything. Choose the challenges that interest you, combine technologies, and build your own way.

Workshops & Live Demos

Each participating company will have a dedicated slot during BuildFest.

Their teams will demo their products live and run hands-on workshops where you can follow along, experiment, and ask questions.

• Challenges built around the technology

• Direct access to the people building the products

You can also visit the company tables throughout the event to continue experimenting and talk directly with the teams.

Everything Goes Through Builder Base

Builder Base is the central hub for BuildFest.

Every challenge, workshop activity, project, and final submission should be submitted through Builder Base.

Whether you build a small experiment, complete one challenge, or combine several technologies into a full project, submit everything you build on Builder Base.

Use Builder Base to:

• Submit your challenge solutions

• Share your projects and prototypes

• Submit designs and code

• Track your BuildFest progress

• Showcase your final build

Build → Submit on Builder Base → Share → Pitch

Pitch Night 🎤

We'll wrap up BuildFest with a pitch and demo session.

Take what you've built and show it to the room.

Projects can be as simple or ambitious as you want. The goal is to turn what you learned during the event into something you can actually show.
