Let's talk about Power Concentration!

As AI systems grow more capable, a small number of companies, governments, or individuals could gain unprecedented control over the economy, information, and decision-making. How would that actually happen, and what can we do about it?

What we’ll do:

• Map the chain of events. We’ll walk through the steps that could lead from today’s AI landscape to dangerous concentrations of power.

• Gauge the odds. For each step, we’ll discuss how likely it is and what would make it more or less probable.

• Compare now vs. where we need to be. We’ll look at today’s safeguards (policy, technical, institutional) and the gaps we need to close.

• Break out into debates and discussions. Small groups will dig into the most contested questions and bring back their takes.
