Sunset Neighborhood Build-a-thon

This is a different kind of build-a-thon!

We're coming together in the Sunset to build what we need for our neighborhood. Neighbors will pitch dreams and projects (e.g. a community garden, a babysitting co-op, ideas gathered from beloved local small businesses and organizations), form teams, and start building the artifacts each project needs first: a flyer, a landing page, an outreach plan, a working first version of software meeting a need in our neighborhood.

It's a commencement, not a competition! At 5pm we'll share brief first notes and ideas over food from Sunset spots and celebrate what's begun.

All skills are appreciated and everyone's welcome!

Sunset Social Club creates spaces to connect with neighbors IRL. One of the best ways to do this is to co-create and build things together! It will be fun. We'll have a kids corner. No tech background needed. Come for any part of it.

A note: it's SF Tech Week that week, and we've invited some Tech Week folks looking for an alternative to the downtown scene to come out to the ocean and contribute to our teams.
