The First Non-Tech Buildathon

Never written a line of code? Good. It’s time for non-technical people to join the hackathon—and become builders in one afternoon.

On September 4, Builder Pub is bringing the first-ever Non-Tech Buildathon to AWS Builder Loft in San Francisco.

We’ll begin with a short, hands-on introduction showing you how to use AI to build a working tool from scratch. Then, bring your own idea, join someone else’s, or form a team on the spot—and spend the afternoon turning an idea into something you can demo.

You don’t need coding experience, AI experience, a team, or even an idea before you arrive. We’ll help you find a place to start and stay nearby whenever you get stuck.

Who This Is For

This event is for designers, marketers, founders, operators, creators, students, and anyone who has ever thought:

• “I have an idea, but I don’t know how to build it.”

• “Hackathons sound exciting, but I’m not technical.”

• “I want to build with AI, but I don’t know where to begin.”

How It Works

You can pitch an idea, join a project that sounds exciting, form a team with people you meet, or build independently.

Your project could be a useful personal tool, small web app, AI assistant, game, interactive experience, or something completely unexpected.

You bring the problem, the taste, and the decisions. AI helps with the technical implementation.

We’ll end with a community showcase, where teams and solo builders can demo what they created. Expect ambitious ideas, imperfect prototypes, last-minute fixes, and a few fun awards.
