Dr. Roman Yampolskiy has spent two decades studying that question. He is a computer scientist at the University of Louisville and one of the first researchers to work on AI safety. He has published over 100 papers on the risks of advanced AI. He also wrote AI: Unexplainable, Unpredictable, Uncontrollable.

He started out believing we could build safe AI. The more he studied it, the less he believed it. Today he is one of the most direct voices in the field, and one of the most watched. He has appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience, The Diary of a CEO, the Lex Fridman Podcast, and more, reaching over 25M+ views.
