In this session, Richie Bachala (Snowflake) shows how Cortex AI treats model choice as a runtime decision, not an architecture decision: open-weight models running alongside proprietary ones, automatic routing that sends simple tasks to cheaper models and hard ones to frontier models, and admin controls so your organization — not a default setting — decides what "good enough" means. You'll see a single agent handle a mixed workload across multiple models live, and leave with a mental model for why open weights and routing aren't a cost hack — they're how production AI should work.
